Shelly Trent, President

Shelly Trent, the co-founder and president-elect of Fridays@4, is a human resources and career development expert, and a dedicated advocate of higher learning. She devotes her life to empowering professionals to achieve their full potential through lifelong learning, career growth and personal achievement. 

Upon the society's founding, Trent was the driving force behind the creation of Fridays@4's weekly programs, often serving as a guest speaker herself, and she continues to serve as liaison to the Fridays@4 Programming Committee.

Trent's favorite saying is “Find a job you love, and never work a day in your life.” Her certifications include SPHR, SHRM-SCP, JCTC, JCDC, and CAE. She holds a master’s degree in public administration and is pursuing a doctoral degree (ABD) in HR development and career counseling from the University of Louisville. She lives in Southern Indiana near Louisville, KY, with her husband, two cats, and a dog.

Heather Story, President-Elect

As Fridays@4 treasurerHeather Story is the architect and financial authority of The Fridays@4’s Society. As the society grows into a vibrant organization serving the career needs of association and nonprofit professionals, Story brings her years of experience supporting volunteers to ensure there is a solid operational structure underpinning the vision. She also researches technological tools and identifies cost-effective, innovative solutions to contribute to the society’s growth and sustainability.

Outside of her work with Fridays@4, Story is a consultant with Volunteer Strategies, helping volunteer leaders and nonprofits succeed in their missions to serve. She lives in Knoxville, TN, and when she’s not cheering for the Vols, she can be found volunteering with middle schoolers or hiking and hanging out with family and friends.

Vita Washington, Secretary

As Fridays@4 secretary, Vita Washington serves as a conduit for communication between the board, management, and members. In creating Fridays@4’s governing bylaws, she provides thought leadership and program management expertise to ensure that governing documents, policies and procedures are properly developed, recorded and implemented.

Prior to launching her Proactive Proofreading LLC medical writing business, Washington held leadership roles at the Infectious Diseases Society of America and the American Medical Writers Association Mid-Atlantic Chapter. She holds a bachelor’s degree in biology from Norfolk State University and a master’s degree in science administration from Trinity Washington University. Outside of work, she can be found skydiving and spending time with close family and friends. She resides in Washington, DC.

Kenjie Davis, Director

Kenjie Davis is an association management system (AMS) expert with a background in nonprofit membership development. He is the founder of The AMS Guy, LLC, where he helps organizations maximize the impact their AMS has on their mission. As liaison to the Fridays@4 Technology Committee, Davis offers experience integrating digital and product operations, technical engineering expertise, and resourcefulness at developing creative solutions for digital management systems. 

Davis holds dual degrees in applied physics and mechanical engineering from Morehouse College and Georgia Tech. He lives in Atlanta, GA, where if you don’t find him at the skating rink or on the dance floor, then he’s somewhere in the city finding something new to get into.
